Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

Applied behavioral analysis (ABA) is a growing field of study and practice. Working with diverse populations and integrating the views and values of these populations into our treatment plans are the aim and goal of all our clinicians. The field of ABA is growing in its knowledge of how to apply cultural considerations into practice. However, we have a long way to go. The application of diversity, equity and inclusion into the work we do is a focus for Swann Clinic. As such, we commit to gathering data and research and attending additional training to expand our knowledge of how diversity both is applied in our practice and influences our outcomes. Furthermore, as a training site, Swann Clinic has committed to the development of a DEI committee to cast a lense on hiring practices, policies, treatment plans and interventions.

The goal is to have diverse voices weigh in on the impact of these practices and improve their accessibility and applicability to all individuals within our organization and whom we serve. In addition, training on diversity and inclusion practices on our in-service learning days will take place to challenge our knowledge and build skills within our existing diverse program.
